Client Services

Communications.

Our services include complete access to our portfolio managers and staff, either by telephone or a personal visit.

Rock Point Advisors provides each client with a comprehensive quarterly report. The portfolio appraisal includes historical cost information, current market values, unrealized gain and loss figures, estimated annual income, and performance calculations. We include a letter detailing our current view of the markets.

For taxable accounts, Rock Point Advisors provides an annual schedule of gains and losses. We pay close attention to the tax consequences of our portfolio management throughout the year and, if desired, coordinate our efforts with our clients' other advisors.

Given our understanding of the investments that we place in each portfolio, it is fitting that many of our clients elect to have Rock Point vote their proxy statements. Our Proxy Voting Policy and record are available upon request.

Establishing an Account.

If you choose to engage Rock Point Advisors, we will jointly execute a contract that grants us authorization to place trades in your account. Your assets remain in your name with your broker. If you are not currently working with a broker, we will offer suggestions. When recommending a broker, we consider transaction costs, execution ability, and demonstrated administrative efficiency.

Management Fees.

Rock Point Advisors' management fee is calculated as follows:

  • 1.2% of Assets Under Management (AUM) on amounts up to $500,000
  • 0.6% on the next $500,000 of AUM
  • 0.5% of AUM on amounts over $1,000,000

Payment is divided into quarterly installments and is due at the beginning of each quarter based on the market value of the assets at the end of the preceding quarter. Related accounts are combined for the purpose of calculating an average fee level.

Minimum Investment.

Under most circumstances, the minimum investment for a new relationship is $500,000.
